ICC scholarships announced

FULTON – Scholarship recipients at Itawamba Community College for 2014 include Amber Buchanan of Okolona, Leadership; Conner Pate Davidson of Houlka, ACT Achievement Incentive, Leadership; Jonathan Duncan of Houlka, ACT Special Achievement Incentive; Adrian Dillon Harrison of Houston, ACT Achievement; Tatayana Hughes of Houston, ACT Regular Incentive, Leadership; Jessica Moore of Houlka, Leadership; and Devin Murphy of Woodland, Leadership.
Buchanan will be a 2014 graduate of Okolona High School where she has participated in band, peer helpers, peer tutors and cheerleading. Her honors include 2012 HOBY Ambassador, National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society and president of the Learning Community Initiative Student Board. She is the daughter of James H. Buchanan Sr.
At Houlka Attendance Center where he will be a 2014 graduate, Davidson has participated in varsity baseball and track, Beta Club and Anchor Club. His honors include senior class president, superintendent’s honor roll and advanced award in English, science, math and history state testing. Davidson is a member of Houlka First Baptist Church. He is the son of Tim and Pammie Davidson.
At South Pontotoc High School where he will be a 2014 graduate, Duncan has participated in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, basketball and baseball. His honors include sixth Man, Ambassador, best defense, Hustle, coaches’ award and all-division in basketball; and all-division, coaches’ award and offensive award for baseball. Duncan also participates in Algoma Baptist Church youth. He is the son of Kris and Jennifer Duncan.
Harrison will be a 2014 honor graduate of Houston High School where he has been a member of the band. He is the son of Connie Harrison and Tim Harrison.
At Houlka High School where she will be a 2014 graduate, Hughes has participated in Beta Club and Anchor Club (president). Her honors include overall president and historian. She is the daughter of Cynthia Moore.
Moore will be a 2014 graduate of Houlka High School where she has participated in basketball, softball, Anchor Club, Beta Club, yearbook staff and Student Council. Her honors include honor roll, class secretary, homecoming queen and Miss Houlka High School. Moore also attends Houlka First Baptist Church. She is the daughter of Shan Moore.
At Houston High School where he will be a 2014 graduate, Murphy has participated in football. He is the son of Murry Murphy and Lee Paul Murphy.
