BRUCE – Maida C. Stegall, 82, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at her home in Bruce. She was born April 29, 1932, in Bruce.
A graduate of Ellard High School, she went to college on a basketball scholarship to Holmes Junior College. She was a member of Mt. Comfort Baptist Church and a retired legal secretary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Collins and Erma Jewel Bennett Collins; her husband, Ersa Pellum Stegall; and two sons, Danny Stegall and Paul Stegall.
Services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce. Dr. Bobby Douglas officiated, and Bro. Darrell Logan assisted. Burial was in Bruce Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Dr. Ava Lynn Stegall (John Lamberth) of Bruce; two brothers, Brooks (Edna Earl) Collins of Bruce and Larry (Mam) Collins of Bruce; eight grandchildren, Jay Stegall, Keith Stegall, Josh Stegall, Rusty Stegall, Jonathan Stegall, Jody Stegall, Nick Manuel, Jadwin Manuel; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Billy Burnham, Darren Collins, Jarrad Collins, Jarred Griffin, John Hardy, W.T. Smith and Eugene Townsend.
Visitation was from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
