Team White opens with two wins

Houston’s Team White started the summer season in a positive way with two wins over East Webster May 27.
Houston White and the Wolverines went scoreless through three innings although both managed to put runners on the bags.
Houston’s Reid Carter and Justin Kimbrough both drew walks but were stranded as was East Webster’s Chase Keller after singling to first and stealing second.
The Houston boys broke the game open in the top of the fourth as Luke Hancock and Hunter Moore drew back-to-back walks and Clay Hillhouse’s single loaded the bases. Courtesy runner Justin Hardin scored from third on a pass ball and Justin Kimbrough ripped a double to left field for two RBI.
Zach Poteete finished up the scoring in the inning with an RBI single to put Team White ahead 4-0.
East Webster battled back with two runs but the Houston boys took the win 6-2.
In the second game, Team White shut out the Wolverines 2-0.
The Houston boys are scheduled to host Starkville Thursday and head to Itawamba Agricultural High School Monday and Tuesday for tournament.web base white
