Hilltopper baseball awards

The Hilltoppers ran through a positive season this spring, snagging a second place spot in division and culminating their efforts with a stand at North Half.
The Toppers placed as runners-up in 4A North Half and coach Scott Gann said the team worked throughout the season for their success.
“We started out sluggish and lost a few early games but I think that helped us build some ammo going into the division,” Gann said.
He also pointed to final scores to show the determined competitive spirit of the team.
“This team went 6-1 in one-run games but went 12-3 in three-or-less differences,” Gann said. “That tells me that in close, tight ball games these guys stepped up and did the job.”
The Toppers wrapped up the 2014 season with their annual awards banquet May 19 at the Family Life Cener of Parkway Baptist Church in Houston.
