PONTOTOC – Raymond Van Lantrip, 81, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014, at his home. He was a mechanic all his life and was visited by his friends often at his shop, Ray’s Auto.
He was a loving husband and father. He treated everyone with respect and was loved by all. He was a member of Troy Baptist Church.
Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Bro. Greg Herndon officiated and burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; daughters, Peggy Stone (Mike), Teresa Aldrich of Michigan; sons, Steven Lantrip of Michigan and David Lantrip of Pontotoc; sisters, Wilma Malone of Texas, Marie Youngblood (Wayne) of Senatobia, Margie Earnest of Okolona; and sisters-in-law, Grace Lantrip and Laverne Lantrip.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vuron and Willie Essie Lantrip; brothers, Bill and Edward Lantrip; son, Bobby Joe Lantrip; and sister, Monette Lantrip.
Pallbearers will be Steve Lantrip, David Lantrip, Mike Stone, Scott Hester, Shad Hester and Ray Hester.
Visitation was 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday, and 1 until 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
