Maggie Bafford

HOUSTON – Maggie B. Baskin Bafford, 67, died Monday, May 19, 2014 at her residence. She was born May 18, 1947, in Chickasaw County to Willie Baskin and Maggie Matthews Baskin. She was a member of Zion Spring M.B. Church, Houston. She was a former employee of Burris and Cooper Tire. She was a 1965 graduate of Chickasaw County High School, and furthered her education by graduating from Foster Beauty College and attending Mississippi Valley State University. She loved sports and played baseball and basketball.
Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Springs M.B. Church, Houston with the Rev. Albert Cockrell officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include five sisters, Leanna Seals, Shirley Baskin, both of Houston, Earnestine Hays, Doris (Archie) Williams, both of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Willie (Walter) McIntosh of Ben Harbor, Michigan; and one brother, Henry (Virginia) Baskin of Houston.
She was preceded in death by parents; sisters, Essie Chatman and Queen Esther McIntosh; and brothers, Willie Price Baskin, Heron Baskin, R.C. Baskin, and George Baskin.
Visitation was at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Williams Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
