Fishing rodeo May 17 in Pontotoc

The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) and Trace State Park are hosting a youth fishing rodeo May 17. The fishing rodeo is open to youth 15 years and under; registration begins at 8 a.m. Trace State Park is located on Highway 6 approximately 6 miles west of Tupelo.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing gear, catfish bait, and stringers.
Fishing rodeos offer a quality fishing experience for younger anglers in a controlled and safe environment. Rodeo ponds are well stocked with catfish to make it easier for participants to catch fish. This event is a great way for families to spend quality time together.
