He was a North Mississippi Medical Center volunteer chaplain and Hospice worker.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at Memorial Funeral Home in Houston with Bro. Jerry Grammer officiating. Burial will be at Chickasaw Memorial Gardens. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Shirlene Chamblee Hilderbrand of Vardaman; four daughters, Theresa Gress (Phil) of Bellville, Peggy Jan Stone (Jeff) of Bardstown, Ky., Jennifer Pilkington (Nelson) of Vardaman and Jamie Cruse (Norman) of Okolona; one son, Brady Gray (Mollie); 11 grandchildren, Denise Bradley, Jeffrey Stone, Jared Stone, Josh Welsh, Brayton Gray, Holly Welsh, Robin Fallin, Brittney Gray, Evin Pilkington, Kinsley Cruse and Cason Cruse; many great-grandchildren; one sister, Naudine Pheobus; and two brothers, Wayne and David Pheobus.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Hildabrand Pheobus; and his brother, Ronnie Pheobus.
Pallbearers will be Norman Cruse, Nelson Pilkington, Randy Montgomery, Jeff Stone, Wayne Pheobus, Brayton Grey, Will Fallin and Corey Young.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Home.
