Lady Rams in third heading to playoffs

The Hamilton Lady Lions didn’t falter in holding on to their number two spot for playoffs as they shutout the Lady Rams of Vardaman 16-0 April 17.
The Hamilton girls made their first move in the top of the second plating five runs and had an explosive sixth inning adding seven more.
The Vardaman girls’ success at the plate was spotty with Laci Jo Fugett stranded on third in the first and Anna Beth Lucius and Laken Lucius left on base in the second.
Cheyenne McKinney turned a single into a double on a Hamilton error in the third but couldn’t get around to home. The Lady Rams had a seventh inning rally, loading the bases on McKinney’s single and steal, Laken Lucius’ walk and Lainey Jo Landreth’s HBP, but fell short of home and took a tough loss.
Despite the loss, the Lady Rams held the number three spot in division for a playoff run which begins Thursday.web soft vard1 web soft vard2
