rp_American_OBIT_flag_2a_310Z-300x2251.jpgABERDEEN – Riley Clifton “Buddy” Thompson Jr., 79, died Monday, April 21, 2014, at the Care Center of Aberdeen. He was born Feb. 18, 1935, to Riley Clifton “Sam” Thompson Sr. and Mary Lou Baggett Thompson in Aberdeen.

He was a lifelong resident of Aberdeen. He was a graduate of Aberdeen High School and a member of First United Methodist Church. He retired after 37 years as parts manager for Aberdeen Ford dealerships. He also served 20 years in the U.S. Army National Guard, retiring as an E6.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at Oddfellows Rest Cemetery with Bro. Truman Thompson and Bro. Keith Williams officiating. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen will be in charge of the service.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Gallop Thompson of Aberdeen; one daughter, Jaye Manning and husband, Mike, of Amory; two grandsons, Riley Manning of Tupelo and Charlie Manning of Amory; one sister-in-law, Rose Morgan of Amory; two brothers-in-law, Jason Gallop and wife, Sherron, of Amory and Ray Gallop and wife, Sandra, of Wren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Joan Pope; and one brother, William Oliver Thompson.
Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
