Getting ready for a little taste

CDF-Logo-Sun-CourthouseHOUSTON – The Taste of Houston is shaping up well with several businesses on board to provide a sample of their favorite recipes and a little glimpse into their wares, services and products.

The Taste of Houston has a different twist this year with business owners and merchants taking the serving spots on the buffet for lunch. Each participant will offer a bite-sized serving of a different food item to guests for $10 a plate with the proceeds benefitting Chickasaw Development Foundation’s town events throughout the year. CDF Executive Director Joyce East said the tasting event is coming together with good response from local merchants.
“We’ve got a really good group so far,” East said. “We’re up to about 18 right now and we’ve got room for more.”
Merchants are encouraged to decorate their serving space with samples of their products and may bring coupons, brochures, fliers or business cards for guests at the luncheon.
The event will be held April 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Family Life Center of Houston First United Methodist Church. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased from any CDF Activities committee member or through the CDF office on Starkville Road.
