WOODLAND – Jewel Maurine Clark King, 90, died Friday, April 4, 2014, at her home in Woodland. She was born Dec. 15, 1923, in Clay County to Grady W. Clark and Eula Mae Clark. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at Houston Funeral Home in Houston with the Rev. Sammy McMillen officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in Woodland. Houston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her son, Wayne and Cynthia King of Woodland; her daughter-in-law, Barbara King of Houlka; her grandchildren, Cory and Olivia King, Dana and Derek Brown and Shane and Brandy Presley; her great-grandchildren, Annie Kate Brown, Matthew Dendy, Lea Grace Dendy and Ava Presley; her sister, Faye and Tom Johnson of Houston, Texas; and her brother, Robert “Bobby” and Nora Clark of Okolona.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. King in November of 1973; her son, William Mike King; her parents; her sisters, Nannie Harrison, Ruby Vail and Dorothy Watkins; and her brothers, Willie Clark, A.J. Clark, Fred Clark and Grady Clark.
Pallbearers are Shane Presley, Derek Brown, Bob Mixon, Cory King, Gary McQuary and Bobby Clark
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
