OKOLONA – Aeria Gunn Whitley, 75, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born Nov. 13, 1938, to Guss Gunn and Willie Lee Wise Gunn.
She was a member of Zion Spring M.B. Church, where she was missionary president, and choir and kitchen committee member. She was noted for her sewing.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at Zion Spring Church with the Rev. Nollen Elzie officiating. Williams Memorial of Okolona is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Dewayne Tumblin (Masthurine) of Okolona; daughter, Jennifer Calvert (Alexander) of Aberdeen; two stepdaughters, Debbie Ferrill (Cedric) of Chicago and Frances Brown (Danny) of Chicago; four sisters, twin Beria Dandridge, S.L. Navy (Jeff), Myrthell Golden, all of Chicago, and Bessie Keys of St. Louis; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Gunn; seven grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Whitley; her parents, five sisters and six brothers.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
