STRONG – According to Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell, his department is helping in the investigation of an apparent arson in southern Monroe County late Tuesday.
“Apparently someone was going up and down the road setting fires to ditch banks. This is the very first report we’ve had of anybody doing anything like this,” Cantrell said.
Several volunteer fire departments assisted the Prairie-Darracott Volunteer Fire Department to extinguish the blazes from Strong Road on through to the Darracott community.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 369-2468 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
