The Hilltopper tennis team had some time off over the school holiday, but one player stayed on the court with good success.
Ezra Blissard of Houston partnered with Will Christiansen to compete in boy’s doubles at the Spring Break Challenge in New Albany, where the duo placed first in the tournament.
Blissard also competed in boy’s singles, placing third, and losing only one match.
The Topper tennis team will return to New Albany for a high school match against the current 4A champions.
“We hope to gain some experience at playing at that level to take into our district matches that begin next week,” said Mike Blissard who has been assisting Clayton Dodd with the team this spring.
“Coach Dodd has worked the team hard over the last few weeks and they have shown improvement,” Blissard said. “Tuesday’s match should give us a good gauge to see what we need to do to win State.”
The Houston team will be in New Albany Tuesday and in Pontotoc Friday.web tennis
