DRUG ARREST: Panola man jailed in Pontotoc

1STOCK gray jailbars DRUG ARRESTPONTOTOC — Pontotoc police have arrested a Panola man on marijuana charges following a traffic stop Sunday.

Pontotoc Police Chief Larry Poole said Christopher Michael Sanford, 41, of Courtland, allegedly committed a traffic violation and was pulled over by police. A search of the vehicle turned up more than seven pound of marijuana.

Plastic bags, a cell phone and electronic scales were also seized prompting police to charge Sanford with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Sanford was placed in the Pontotoc County jail on $75,000 bond.

The investigation into this incident is continuing.
