Heard heads to EMCC

“I’m very excited about it,” said Okolona’s Jacolbi Heard after signing a letter of intent to play football with East Mississippi Community College.
Heard split time as a quarterback, running back and receiver for the Chieftains, bascially playing where he was most needed at the time. The Chieftains made the first round of playoffs in both the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
Okolona coach Jack Clark credited Heard’s dedication for having a positive influence on the team.
“Jacolbi is a great competitor with leadership qualities,” Clark said. “I am sure with lots of hard work he will be a difference maker for East Mississippi just like he was as a Chieftain.”
The Lions are back-to-back NJCAA National Champions for 2012 and 2013.
Heard is currently on the basketball court for the Chiefs, but is already looking ahead to graduation and moving on to EMCC. He is currently interested in pursuing his education in auto mechanics and business.
“Our coaching staff and community with him the best,” Clark said.web heard
