Let the “second season” begin!

With the first half of the season completed, the push toward division begins in earnest with local and area teams turning up the heat on the hard courts.
January began with the Toppers hosting Okolona in a non-division game and all six schools from Chickasaw and Calhoun counties participating in the first annual Calhoun/Chickasaw Challenge, which proved to be a good opportunity to get back on the court and into rhythm.
“We’re going to try to up our tempo for district,” said Houston coach Vernessa Gates.
The early January play gave Toppers’ coach Orlando Randle an opportunity to see what needs to be tweaked for district play as well.
“We’re going to stay the course and tighten down on what we do and play our game,” Randle said.web hhs ohs3 web hka bakset2
