HOULKA – Harrel Moss, 84, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at V.A. Nursing home in Oxford.
He was a member of Buckhorn Church of Christ and a veteran of the Korean War. He loved his family, hunting and fishing.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Bro. J.F. Dancer will officiate. Burial be in the Buckhorn Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lovell Moss; son, Steve Moss (Pansy) of Thaxton; two daughters, Janet Nicholson (Ronnie) of Baldwyn and Melissa Chavers (Scott) of Jolon, Calif.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sybil Yarborough.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell and Lizzie Moss; three brothers, Carrol Moss, Kenny Moss and Glenn Moss; and three sisters, Evelyn Groseclose, Pearl Walls and Vera Smith.
Pallbearers will be Mitch Monts, Benjamin Taylor, Josh Moss, James Wray, Joseph Freeman, Scott Chavers and Ronnie Nicholson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday.
