Billy Finley

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Billy Frank Finley Jr., 51, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at his residence in Alpharetta, Ga. He was born July 24, 1962, in Aberdeen in Monroe County to Billy Frank Finley and Mary Armon Wood Finley. He attended Amory schools before the family relocated to Meridian. He graduated from Clarkdale High School in Meridian in 1980. He then attended Christian Brothers University in Memphis. While there, he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi and the College National Honor Society. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in May of 1991. He was a member of the United Methodist faith. He enjoyed cooking, playing golf and spending quality time with his dogs, Sidney, Tahoe and Abby. He was a very accomplished business man. He was employed with Comcast Spotlight as Director of Business operations in Alpharetta, Ga.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Tranquil United Methodist Church in Wren with Bro. Harrison Upshaw and Bro. Paul Raley officiating.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Armon Finley Gilliland of Wren; three sisters, Patricia Ann Hooser (Stuart) of Germantown, Tenn., Barbara Jean Oliver (Glenn) of Tupelo and Mary Susan Hannah (Brian) of Ponchatoula, La.; one stepsister, Jan Switzer (Ricky) of Irving, Texas; one stepbrother, Ronald Gilliland (Shirley) of Center, Texas; one uncle, Horace Finley (Dot) of Wren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Frank Finley; stepfather, Edward Gilliland; and his grandparents, Frank and Nannie Mae Finley and Tom and Geneva Wood.
