HOUSTON – Julia Acenith Bowles, 90, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Floy Dyer Nursing Home in Houston. She was born Sept. 22, 1923, in Houston to Clarence Farr Bowles Sr. and Julia Acenith Gilliam Bowles.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Houston since 1937. She was a retired Librarian from Pensacola Florida High School.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at Houston Cemetery with Bro. Rex Wilburn officiating. Memorial Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her niece Julia Ellen Bowles of Houston and three nephews, Dean Edwin Bowles of Norfolk, Va., John Bowles of Winder, Ga., and Jack Lowrey Bowles of Winona.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, John Cindney Bowles and Clarence Farr Bowles Jr.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center in Houston or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
