TUPELO – Darrell Pickens, 40, Tupelo died Dec 9, 2013 at North Mississippi Medical Center. Darrell was born, along with his twin brother, on May 5, 1973, in Okolona to Mary Jane Pickens and the late Climel Pickens
He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. He attended Houlka Attendance Center, class of 1992. He was a former employee of United Furniture.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at New Hope United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Williams Memorial Funeral Home of Okolona is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Malcolm Pickens of Okolona; a loving mother, Mary Jane Pickens of Tupelo; three brothers William Earl (Alice) and Dennis Pickens of Tupelo, and David Pickens (Kristina) of Suwanee, Ga.; two sisters, Yolanda (Demetrius) Abram of Hattiesburg, and Sandra Pickens of Las Vegas, Nev.; a stepmother, Mary Lee Pickens of Okolona; six aunts, Myrtle Boyd and Annie (Isaac) Moore of Okolona, Dorothy (Wilbert) Crawford of Woodland, Louise Pickens of VanVleet, Nellie Murchins of St. Louis, Mo., and Martha Bell of Greenville; and two uncles, J.C. Pickens of Van Vleet, and Alford (Shella) Bell of Houston.
Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
