NEW ALBANY – Mary Alice Jenkins, 66, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at her residence in New Albany. A native of Bruce, she was the daughter of Elder L.V. Stovall and Eva Lois Corbitt Stovall.
She attended United House of Prayer in Cotton Plant. She was employed for almost 35 years with New Albany Light, Gas and Water as a clerk. She loved to read, shop and cook.
Celebration of life services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at Cherry Creek M.B. Church in Ecru. Bishop Henry Finley will officiate. Burial will be in Cherry Creek Cemetery. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Jenkins of New Albany; two daughters, Eva Randle-Sanders of Shreveport, La., and Roleshia Dixon of New Albany; one son, Roy Cecil Gooch of Oxford; two sisters , Edith Davis of Toledo, Ohio, and Martha Staten of Memphis; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
