On the winning trail

Fall tennis is well underway and the Tanglefoot Travelers scored another team win Oct. 28.
The Travelers won 6-0 over Mooreville with Walt Harrington and Christopher Shands defeating Adam Pierce and Hunter Tate, 6-0, and Ezra Blissard and Lane Brandon beating Josh Rowland and Chance Curbow, 6-2, both in doubles play.
In singles, Shands beat Robert Jones, 6-0, and Harrington won over Pierce, 6-2. Blissard bested Scott Childers, 6-3,and Brandon got a 7-5 win over Rowland.
The team started off the month well with a team win over Cumberland Oct. 15 with the doubles’ team of Harrington and Mark Robbins winning over Rhett Parkerand Jake Wofford 6-2. Houston’s Blissard and Brandon lost to Cumberland’s John Champion and Samuel Butler, 5-7.
In singles, Blissard took a 7-5 win over Butler and Robbins won, 6-1, over Parker. Shands defeated Wofford, 6-0, and Harrington won over Champion, 6-3.
The Travelers have three more division meets coming up and hope to qualify for the State tournament Dec. 7.web tennis1 web tennis2
