PITTSBORO – Johnny Franklin Brummett, 66, Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at his residence. He was born Sept. 30, 1947, in Bruce.
He was a Methodist and a Mason, where he was a member of the Antioch Lodge 549 of Bruce.
He was also a member of The Calhoun County Shrine Club. He was a graduate of Bruce High School Class of 1966, and after graduation, he attended Northwest Mississippi Junior College and Mississippi State University. He was a master carpenter and contractor.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Buford Usry officiating and Bro. Randy Futtrell assisting. Burial is in Old Town Cemetery. Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Collins Brummett of Pittsboro; daughter, Lisa B. Schmitz (Gary) of Pittsboro; son, Dean Brummett (Wendy) of Pittsboro; and four grandchildren, Amber Schmitz, Tyler Brummett, Tanner Brummett and Aubrey Schmitz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyce and Julia Clark Brummett; and a brother, Danny Boyce Brummett.
Pallbearers are Tanner Brummett, Tyler Brummett, Ralph Henley, Timmy Murphree, Aubrey Schmitz and Craig Tutor.
Honorary pallbearers were C.D. Bennett, Benny Collins, Curt Tunnell, Joe Boy Tunnell and Jerry Tutor.
