SOUTHAVEN – Minister Kelvin “Bubba” Fields, 35, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. He was born Aug., 19, 1978, in Clay County to Verlean Fields and William Standfield Jr.
He accepted Christ at an early age at Union Baptist M.B. Church and was a faithful member until he went to college. He graduated from West Point High School, Northeast Community College and Delta State University. He was a dedicated member of Rejoice Fellowship in Olive Branch. He was called into the ministry in 2001.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Union Baptist M.B. Church in Prairie. Pastor Mike Wilson with the Rev. George Black will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Fields Funeral Home of Okolona is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two children, Kelany and Ivy Fields of Ripley; his mother Verlean Fields of Prairie and father William (Joyce) Standfield Jr.; three brothers, Bryant Fields of Prairie, William Standfield III of Houston, Malcolm Standfield of Jackson; four sisters, Aquanda (Kendrick) Cummings, of Smyrna, Ga., Stephanie Standfield of Coldwater, Brystal (Sharay) Ransome and Crystal Standfield both of Jackson; grandparents William (Mable) Standfield Sr. of Houston; and a host of other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Virgie Lee Fields
Visitation will be 4 until 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
