Drug cases, sexual assault, sale of counterfeit goods cases disposed of

 

OKOLONA – The July term of Chickasaw County Circuit Court had 73 cases set and disposed of 13 during the two weeks court was held in Okolona.
The docket saw 32 drug-related cases set for this term, down from the 36 on the docket in January. Alleged crimes of theft, burglary or embezzlement ranked second on the July docket with 16 cases.
The court calendar also listed four sex-related charges and six alleged crimes of violence. Five case of both fraud and sale of counterfeit goods were slated for trial. Three cases of fleeing a law enforcement officer and two of felony DUI were also set for hearing.
