HOULKA – Each spring, Superintendents around the state have the opportunity to nominate one senior for a Mississippi Association of Superintent’s Scholarship. Chickasaw County Superintendent Dr. Betsy Collums submitted her nomination and found out this summer the award would go to 2013 graduate Kaylyn Clark.
“At the MASS summer convention in July, I found out that Kaylyn had been selected from more than 107 applicants,” Collums said.
Kaylyn is an honor graduate of Houlka High School and plans to attend Blue Mountain College this fall.
The scholarship is $1,000 paid directly to the student to use for college expenses.
“She has always been one of the top students in her class,” Collums said.”She worked hard in her classes and is a good role model for other students.”
