BRUCE – Syble Massey Brasher, 89, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. She was born July 6, 1924, in Merigold.
She was a homemaker and a member of Bruce First Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Bruce High School Class of 1938, and she attended Jackson Commercial College.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce. Bro. Darrell Logan will officiate, and Dr. Daniel Hathorne will assist. Burial will be in Bruce Cemetery. Parker Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by three daughters, Diane (Mike) Young of Bruce, Hilda (R.D.) Cline of Amory and Janet (Ronald) Jenkins of Bruce; seven grandchildren, Reba Dunn, Carla Lee, Amy Beachum, Rachel Pomeroy, Sarah Stevens, Ben Jenkins and Jesse Jenkins; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, J. Thurman Massey of Bruce.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvin Buford Brasher; her parents, Truman Zack Massey and Alpha Card Massey; and brothers, Ernest Massey, Hubert F. Massey and Tack Massey.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Beachum, Scott Dunn, Ben Jenkins, Jesse Jenkins, Anders Lee, Billy Pomeroy and Michael Stevens.
Visitation was from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
