Meet the Wildcats

The Houlka Football Booster Club sponsored Meet the Wildcats and incorporated a kid’s carnival for a little extra fun. Originally planned as a fundraiser, organizers changed the event so all games would be free to all.
“There’s no charge, we’re just here for fun,” said booster Gay Williams. “The kids are running around with donation boxes but the games are free.”
Children participated in the ring-toss, bean-bag toss, dunking booth and theatrical face painting by Ayla Saylors of Nettlon with football players and cheerleaders assisting younger children in the games.
Coach Rob Allen introduced the team and told guests the plans for a new football field are moving right along.
“We’re voting on the culverts tonight and that’s the last thing we have to do to get ready,” Allen said. “It’s looking good, things are really fixing to start on this field. We’re this close, right there ready to start.”
