WEST POINT – Charles Lewis Stafford Sr., 82, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Rush Specialty Hospital in Meridian. He was born Sept. 8, 1930, in Clay County to the late Ellie Mae Shirley and Henry C. Stafford. He retired from B&W with 40 years service as a weld specialist. He was a member of Siloam Baptist Church where he was a deacon.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Siloam Church with the Rev. Doran Henry officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home in West Point and 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margurite Edwards Stafford; sons, Lewis Stafford (Martha Gail), Cliff Stafford (Cathy) and Mark Stafford (Beverly), all of West Point, Steve Stafford (Venessa) of Biloxi; brother, Robert Earle Stafford of West Point; sister, Mary Evelyn Johnson of Savannah, Ga.; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Marty Stafford, Gabe Stafford, Dale Stafford, Richie Stafford, Larry Stafford and Bob Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday School Class at Siloam Baptist Church and fellow workers at B&W.
