HOUSTON – Booker T. “Jack” Townsend, 90, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Aberdeen Care Center. He was born July 31, 1922, in Clay County to Booker T. Townsend Sr and Ollie Rosenburgh Townsend. He was a farmer and a bus driver, and a faithful member of Ebeneezer M.B. Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Eberneezer M.B. Church with Rev. Spencer Gunn officiating. Williams Memorial in Okolona is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include daughters, Arlesha Guss of St. Louis, Mae Emma Bowers of Tupelo, Faye Williams (Johnny) of Houston and Mardell Cooper (Willie) of Tupelo; sons, Jimmie Townsend (Mary) of Nettleton, Q.C. Townsend (Mary) of Aberdeen, Willie Graham (Lounette) of Tupelo, Humphrey Graham (Mary) of Houston; sister-in-law, Annie Townsend of Okolona; 13 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
