James Thompson

OKOLONA – James “Bobcat” Thompson, 60, died Saturday, July 13, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Oct. 9, 1952, to J.C. Ivy and Nancy Lee Thompson. He was a former employee of Lifestyle and a member of New Hope.

Services will be at Saturday at the New Hope M.B. Church. The Rev. Robert Parks will officiate. Williams Memorial of Okolona is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Nettie Box of Okolona; three daughters, Kimberly Thompson, Ruby Atkinson and Gloria Darden (Janand), all of Okolona; five sons, James Atkinson (Lisa) of Amory, Bryant Lenoir (Seneseeria) of Aberdeen, Alex

Thompson of Tupelo, Gregory Thompson (Cheryl)( of Tupelo and Henry Atkinson of Okolona; three sisters, Mary Thompson of Prairie, Annie L. Swift of West Point and Gloria D. Cross of Chicago; one brother, Dennis Ivy of Chicago; 29 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 ro 6 p.m. today with a wake from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
