BRUCE – Ova Griffin Brown, 100, died Friday, June 21, 2013, at Bruce Community Living Center. She was born Oct. 11, 1912, in Pontotoc County. She was a homemaker and a member of Westside Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce. Bro. David Poynor and Bro. Kevin Chrestman will officiate. Burial will be in Carey Springs Cemetery at Pontotoc. Parker Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by three daughters, Anna Dulin of Memphis, Bobbie Ferguson and Jimmie Donaldson, both of Bruce; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Brown; her parents, Festus Griffin and Carrie Lou Aron Griffin; two sons, James Burl Brown and James Laderl Brown; sister, Lucille Whitworth; and brothers, Hilton Griffin and Lagrone Griffin.
Pallbearers will be Cal Brown, Davis Brown, Dr. Eddie Brown, Rocky Brown, Ricky Donaldson, Scott Ferguson, Jeremiah Jenkins and Troy Jenkins.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
