WALNUT – Dorothy A. Besinger, 71, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at her home in Walnut. She was born Feb. 2, 1942, to Douglas and Lodie Mills Dooley. She was a member of Jesus Name Community Church and a homemaker. She was a devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, going to church and Southern gospel music.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Jesus Name Community Church with Bro. Gary Porterfield and Bro. Wayne Flake officiating. Burial will be in the Jesus Name Community Church Cemetery. Ripley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick Besinger of Walnut; two daughters, Rhonda Williamson of Pontotoc and Lori Sanford (Kerry) of Walnut; two sons, Randy Gill (Misty) of Pontotoc and Tommy Gill (Nicole) of Houston; one brother, Danny Dooley (Mary) of Ripley; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and her special caregiver, Theresa Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Margaret Bone and Paulette Fortenberry.
Pallbearers will be Cory Porterfield, Jamison Roberts, Justin Barnes, Channing Cartwright, Monroe Wright and Gaither Barnes.
