Huffman honored for academics

OXFORD – Zackary Huffman of Houston MS 38851 is among 153 students recently initiated into the University of Mississippi’s chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, the university’s highest academic honor across all disciplines.

The induction ceremony was held at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts.

Huffman, a public policy leadership major in the College of Liberal Arts, was among the graduates at Ole Miss’ May 11 commencement.

A Luckyday Scholar, he is a member of the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College and the Lott Leadership Institute.

A graduate of Houston High School, he is the son of Mark and Rhonda Huffman.
Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest, largest and most selective honor society for all academic disciplines.

Membership is based on a student’s sound character and academic standing. Juniors must have completed 72 credit hours and rank in the top 7.5 percent of their class, while seniors and graduate students must rank in the top 10 percent of their class.
