HOUSTON – Leslie Joe Wiggs, 74, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at his home.
He was born March 29, 1939, to Elmer Bud Wiggs and Robbie Pauline Mayhan Wiggs. He was a retired barber and farmer. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church.
Services are Thursday, May 9, at 10 a.m. at Houston Funeral Home with Rev. Don Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Chickasaw Memorial Gardens in Houston. Houston Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Cox Wiggs of Houston; his son, Eddie Joe and Carol Wiggs of Houston; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Wiggs of Houston, Alyssa Alford of Houston, Josh and Meghon Alford of Jonesboro, AR, Jody Alford and fiancée, Kelli Boatner of Houston, and Jerritt Alford of Houston; his sisters, Shirley Hubbard of Derma, Louise Smith of Houston, Patricia Marshall of Calhoun City; his brothers, Jimmy D. Wiggs of Jackson, Sam L. Wiggs of West Point, Robert Wiggs of the Atlanta Community, Jerry Wiggs of the Atlanta Community, Larry Wiggs of Calhoun City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Hosea Lee Wiggs, and his daughter, Melissa Alford.
Pallbearers are Josh Alford, Jerritt Alford, Jody Alford, Johnny Whitt, Larry Wiggs, George Smith.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Houston Funeral Home.
