WEST POINT – J.T. Marble, 75, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at his home. He was born Nov. 14, 1937, to Square Marble and Essie Gates Marble. He was employed by Clay County for 30 years. He loved gardening, especially raising greens.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Plain M.B. Church. The Rev. Micheal McGaha will officiate. Williams Memorial of Okolona is in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Henley Marble of West Point; daughters, Jean (Eddie) Pickens of Houston, Linda (Larry) Chandler of Aberdeen, and Patricia (Eddie) Hogan and Shirley Evans of Prairie; one son, Derrick Marble (Lisa) of West Point; seven stepchildren, Calvin Baskin of West Point, Leon Baskin of Memphis, Darian Henley of West Point, Marion (Carlos) Chandler of Killeen, Texas, Kim Henley of West Point, Pamela Henley of West Point, Sharon Henley of West Point; three sisters, Mary Johnson of Bronx, N.Y., Louise Davenport and Bernice McDavis of Prairie; two brothers, Andrew Marble of Ind, Iowa, and Perry Marble of Bronx, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, 20 stepgrandchildren, five stepgreat-grandchildren.
