Jimmy and Amy Alford of Woodland announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Suzanne Alford, to John Wesley Parker III, son of Kim Parker and the late John Wesley “J.W.” Parker, Jr., of Calhoun City.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lancaster of Woodland, the late Albert Bingham Gore of Eupora, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Modis Alford of Houston.
Miss Alford is a 2008 honors graduate of Houston High School, and she is a 2010 honors graduate of East Mississippi Community College. She is also a 2012 Cum Laude graduate from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She is employed as a school teacher by the Houston Separate School District.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hubbard of Derma, Jeanette Parker and the late John Wesley Parker Sr. of Calhoun City.
Mr. Parker is a 2007 graduate of Calhoun Academy. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business and Interdisciplinary Studies at Mississippi State University. He is employed by Helena Chemical Company in Winona.
The couple will exchange vows on June 8, 2013, at 7 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Houston. There will be a reception held at the home of the bride’s parents. Family and friends are invited to attend.
