Joyce Cole

HOUSTON – Joyce Booth Cole, 73, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013. She was born Feb. 21, 1940, in Paynes to Charles Booth and Doris Denley Booth.

She enjoyed watching ladies basketball games, especially her University of Tennessee Volunteers. She loved her dogs, especially her 12-year-old Pomeranian, Jasmine and Paisley, and her 16-year-old Precious, that passed away. She loved her adopted granddaughter, Randi Farley, and her special “Wee One” Olivia Woods. She enjoyed working in her yard and loved flowers of all kinds. She was an awesome cook and was especially well known for her famous caramel cakes. She very much loved and appreciated her special “Cook and Mailman” Ronnie Cole; and her caregivers, Mrs. Rhonda and Mrs. Robbie from Hospice. She was a member of Houston Presbyterian Church.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in Houston with Bro. Kenneth Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Cole of Houston; one daughter, Brenda Cole of Houston; one sister, Linda Palmer (Darrell) of Bowlingreen, Ky.; four brothers, Larry Booth (Gail) of Charleston, Dewayne Booth (Carmen) of Van Vleet, Mike Booth (Vickie) of Houston and Doyle Booth (Myra) of McCondy; and one nephew/son, Jerry Gravat of Houston, and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Doris Booth; and one sister, Donna Booth Gravat.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Palmer Jr., John Gravat Jr., Jeff Gravat, Doyle Booth Jr., Keith Cole, Kevin Booth, Channing Lansdell, Corey Vaughn, Dustin Martin, Denny Booth and Craig Rutledge .

Honorary pallbearers will be Joel Pounds, Preston Cole, Cooper Copeland and Blake Booth.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 14, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home.

Donations may be made to American Cancer Society, St. Jude Hospital, Tupelo Humane Society or North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice.
