MANTEE – Harold Womack, 86, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Oktibbeha County Hospital. He was born Oct. 30, 1926, in Mantee to James “Jim” Alexander Womack and Zada Kolb Womack. He was retired from Babcock and Wilcox in West Point. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member and a deacon of Crossroads Baptist Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Crossroads Baptist Church with Bro. Buddy Pepper officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jane Kinard of Starkville and Dorothy Stage (Bob) of Mantee; two brothers, Herbert Womack of Tifton, Ga., and Cecil Womack of Oklahoma; two sisters, Nora Spencer of Mantee and Averlee O’Neal of Clinton; two grandsons, Kenneth and Jonathan Stage; two stepgrandsons, Rodney and Russell Stage; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Olene Lewis Womack; his parents, James and Zada Womack; five brothers, Clatie Foster Womack, Edward Womack, Thomas Womack, James Womack and Glen Womack; one sister; and one grandson, William Blaine Meadows.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Henley, David Gore, Jonathan Stage, Kenneth Stage, Jaden Atkinson and William Spencer.
Visitation will from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The body will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to service time Friday.
