BRUCE – Lorene Ferguson Murphree, 86, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Bruce Community Living Center. She was born May 24, 1926, in Calhoun City. She was a homemaker and a retired employee of Glenn Slacks Garment Plant. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce. Bro. Mickey Ferguson will officiate, and Bro. Joey Hamilton, Bro. Wayne Cobb and Bro. Kevin Chrestman will assist. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Bruce.
She is survived by a daughter, Gina (Ricky) Baker of Big Creek; two brothers, Grady Ferguson and James Ferguson, both of Bruce; one sister, Melba Box of Bruce; eight grandchildren, Bom Blackwelder, Bradley Howell, Matt Bollinger, Colby Bollinger, Grayce Baker, Jake Baker, Erica Scott and Parker Baker; and 10 great-grandchildren, Dusty Blackwelder, Will Howell, Baylee Ray Baker, Lilly Howell, Lylla Howell, Miller Finn, Easton Bollinger, Tate Scott, Kyleigh Scott, Laden Scott.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Velton Ferguson and Ida McCormick Ferguson, her husband, Ray Winston Murphree; a daughter, Linda Ray Smith; a grandson, Jeffery Lee Blackwelder; a brother, Alon Ferguson.
Pallbearers will be James Marshall Casey, Joe Paul Ferguson, Jon Ferguson, Kennon Ferguson, Mark Ferguson, Ronnie Ferguson, Steve Ferguson and Larry Mason.
