ECRU – Jimmy Lyndon Raby, 80, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Darlington Oaks in Verona. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
He was retired from the City of Pontotoc and Pontotoc Health Services. He enjoyed listening to gospel and country music and mowing the grass.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with the Rev. Steve Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in the Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his children, Tammie Short (Chris) and Johnny Raby (Melody), both of Ecru; and five grandchildren, Ashley Ehlers, Kayla Raby, Lindsey Raby, Wesley Scott and Austin Short. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Hamilton Raby and Mary Bell Graddy Raby; his wife, Flossie Mae Dillard Raby; and a sister, Linda Hemker.
Pallbearers will be Tim Swords, Phil Grubbs, Jesse Walker, Jason Grant, Bilbo Russell and Marcus Allison.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered at www.browningpontotoc.com.
