Lady Rams working toward a win

VARDAMAN – The Vardaman Lady Rams didn’t get the wins they wanted last week, but are working hard toward their goal.

The Lady Rams battled West Union Nov. 29 coming from behind to make it a five-point game at the break and putting up a big 24-point rallying fourth quarter, but came up just two buckets short in a 58-62 loss.

Keuntray Tubbs led with 20 points, followed by Deidre Rose with 15 and Shylsses Rimmer with 11. Rose and Tubbs had seven total rebounds each.

They headed to the North Pontotoc tournament Friday and drew their 4A hosts as an opponent.

The Lady Rams hung tough in the first quarter and again in the third, but ended up on the wrong side of the scoreboard, 43-77.

Rose led with 15 points and Tubbs added nine. Rose led in rebounds with 12 total on the night.

Both Vardaman teams were scheduled to play at East Webster Tuesday and at Falkner Friday. They will head across the county line to play in Houston Dec. 10.
