SMITHVILLE – During its last 4-H club meeting, Smithville’s 4-H Chapelette had a visit from Tim Coker with the Smithville Fire Department. Coker talked about the importance of fire extinguishers in the home, how families should have a meeting place outside and what to do in case of a fire.
He also showed the youth the fireman’s gear and the different tools and let the kids time him get dressed up with all the gear.
amp”He was pretty quick I thought in getting all the gear on and ready to go. Tim also took the youth out to see the fire truck and demo some different tools they use in fight fires and responding to emergencies, amp” said Monroe County 4-H agent Randall Nevins.
